The volunteer committee submitted the suggestion of "Hondo Dog Park" to the city of Hillsboro. "Hondo" was a Hillsboro police canine that lost his life while on-duty. The opening of our park will take place about 10 years after Hondo lost his life while serving his community. Hondo is the only Hillsboro police K-9 to lose his life while on-duty.
